Voice Lessons
Finding Your Authentic Voice
Individual lessons are offered on weekdays and early evenings at my home studio in Williamsburg, Virginia.
What Happens During a Voice Lesson?
During your hour, we will explore your instrument using a variety of warm ups and exercises tailored to your individual needs. We will work together to choose repertoire that best fits your artistic and technical goals. The majority of the hour will be spent making music! You are welcome to record your lesson if you wish. Audition prep for college and vocal competitions is also available.
Students have the option to participate in studio recitals and other
community performances organized by Mooney Vocal Arts.
Voice students have the opportunity to schedule lessons based on each individual's needs. Some elect the same day and time over several weeks; others choose an hour based on their availability. There are no contracts or requirements to complete a specific number of lessons. A Sunday evening email invites students to respond if they'd like a lesson during the upcoming week and requests times that work best for them. A schedule for the week is emailed each Monday.
-
Once a lesson has been scheduled, students are expected to come prepared for their hour.
-
Students are responsible for maintaining copies of their music and should bring water and a pencil with them.
-
Payment for the lesson can be made by check, cash, or Venmo at the time of the lesson. Monthly prepayment is also an option.
-
Should a scheduling conflict arise, students should email as soon as possible to determine if their lesson can be rescheduled for another available timeslot that same week.
-
Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice, as well as no-shows, are required to pay for their reserved hour.
